AWAKE WINDOWS

What are awake windows and awake time?

Awake time is the time that your baby is awake from the moment they wake up to their 1st nap. When they wake up from nap #1, the time they’re awake until nap #2 and so on…

Why is it important to follow?

Babies have a window of time they’re awake and alert before they start getting sleepy and entering their first sleep cycle. We want a baby who is drowsy but awake when we put them down. An under tired or overtired baby is very difficult or impossible to get to sleep and stay asleep. It’s also important to understand these are not hard rules, every baby is different and that is why it’s important to work with a sleep coach in determining this.
